Shamanic Journeying & Sweat Lodge Ceremony

Through shamanic journeying, we connect with our ancestors and the mystery of life, helping us rediscover our sense of belonging within our families, communities, and the world. This process allows us to remember what is essential in our lives and release some of the burdens we may be carrying, often unknowingly. The journey helps us reconnect with the sacred and the forgotten parts of ourselves, opening a path toward healing and wholeness.

The sweat lodge ceremony consists of four rounds, each honouring a different element: Earth, Water, Fire, and Air. We begin and end with prayer, but it is a secular space, allowing you to express your spirituality in your own way. The rounds include meditation, song, and sharing, creating a deep space for reflection and connection. Through this experience, we are reminded that “character is made in the dark.” It is in the darkness that we find our inner strength and transformation.

More About the lodge

The Sweat Lodge Ceremony is an ancient purification ritual, referred to as “the ceremony of the memory of the first breath” in Meso-America. It is the first step in a series of ceremonies used by indigenous cultures to purify the body, mind, heart, and spirit.

The ceremony is a way to connect deeply with oneself and the natural elements (Fire, Water, Air, Earth). It offers a space for gratitude, where participants acknowledge their blessings and seek help from benevolent spirits to address life’s struggles. The Sweat Lodge helps foster a relationship with these elemental spirits to guide and support participants on their path to healing and growth.

The ceremony takes place within a sacred structure, created with intention and reverence, where participants align with the four cardinal directions. It consists of four rounds, each focused on a specific element and purpose, with prayers and songs in each round. The fire is regarded as a living Grandfather, and the lodge as a living Grandmother, creating a connection with the earth and sun.

Generally, the flow of the ceremony looks like this:

1st Door (East – Fire): Presentation and Simply Being.

2nd Door (South – Earth): Opening to Intention, and support.

3rd Door (West – Water): Healing and Releasing.

4th Door (North – Air): Thanksgiving.
